If you’re craving a spa day (like I do all the time), but have a budget like me than an at home spa day can be the next best thing! All you need for your ultimate spa day is a few ingredients and items you may already have at home! Including; honey, baking soda, Epsom salt, extra virgin olive oil, cinnamon, chilled cucumber slices, green tea bags, a bucket big enough to fit both feet comfortably, and a towel or bath pillow.
First, let’s start off with a cleansing tea and a detoxifying foot bath! For the tea, all you need is a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of cinnamon mixed together in a mug with hot water (you can add an optional slice of lemon). There are MANY health benefits to drinking this combination of honey and cinnamon such as relieving symptoms of a cold and clearing up sinuses, helping destroy germs causing bladder infections, reduce the level of cholesterol in your blood, help boost your immune system, and even help with weight loss! • 1 Tbsp Honey
• 1 Tsp Cinnamon
• Hot Water
Now for the detoxifying foot bath. Nothing is better than soaking your feet in warm water after a long day of work and/or running around. For your foot bath, you will need 1 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of Epsom salt, and 2 bags of green tea combined in a bucket big enough for both your feet to fit in comfortably, then filled with hot water (but not hotter than your feet can handle!). You will want to keep your feet in the foot bath for about 20 minutes allowing the toxins to be drawn out.
While you are waiting, this gives you plenty of time to sip your tea, maybe have a blanket wrapped around you for extra coziness, watch a show, file your nails, OR if your spouse or children are at home you can coax them into giving you an Indian head message! DETOXIFYING FOOT BATH:
• 1 Cup Baking Soda
• 1 Cup Epsom Salt
• 2 Tea Bags
• Hot Water
Now that you’re cleansed inside and out, let’s continue with the rest of our skin and face! We will start off by prepping our bath and throwing in a bath bomb of your choice! If you want to continue to detoxify your body, I would suggest using Lynda Loo’s Vanilla Lavender bath bomb made with lavender essential oil, real dried lavender buds, Epsom salts and baking soda. However, all of our bath bombs are made with Epsom salts and baking soda so it’s up to you which you would like to use! Or, have a fragrance free bath by adding a cup of your own Epsom salts and baking soda.
While your bath is getting ready to go, you will want to start making your face mask! Start by combining 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1 tbsp of Baking Soda, and 1 tsp of Honey. Using baking soda helps exfoliate your skin by removing blackheads and dead skin cells, honey cleanses pores, reduces redness and helps prevent breakouts, while olive oil nourishes skin and can help with anti-aging! Apply the mask in a circular motion around your face (obviously avoiding your eyes!)

• 1 Tbsp Baking Soda
• 1 Tsp Honey
Once you get into your bath, use a rolled up bath towel or bath pillow and place comfortably behind your neck. Place your chilled cucumber slices over your closed eyes and leave the mask on for about 10-15 mins before rinsing off. Then VOILA! Enjoy the rest of your at-home spa and remember to keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water after you’ve had your tea.
